In a press release dated November 29, 2013 from the Office of the President of Sierra Leone, Rasie Kargbo nee Timbo has been appointed to serve as the nation’s first female State Chief of Protocol (SCOP). Prior to her appointment as SCOP, Mrs Kargbo was Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where she was also the first woman to hold that position.
The State Chief Of Protocol works in the Office of the President where his/her role is to coordinate, plan, and execute diplomatic visits, trips, meeting, events, credentials to and from the President and government of Sierra Leone. So if you want to see the President of Sierra Leone, you must now see a GoWoman first.
Mrs. Kargbo will be replacing Ambassador Soulay Daramy who has served as SCOP both under President Kabba and Koroma. Ambassador Daramy will be heading the High Commission in the Gambia.
GoWoman congratulates Mrs Rasie Kargbo. Keep breaking those glass ceilings!
