New GoWoman Iro & Buba Collection for Nigerian Independence Day

Nothing says classic Nigerian chic like the modern day Iro & Buba (pronounced “ee-roe” and “boo-bah”). It is a style worn by Yuroba women in the South and South East of Africa’s most populous nation.

What makes an Iro and Buba (also known as oleku) is the joining of a top (blouse) with a wrapper (lappa). The traditional knee length oleku of the 20th century has given way to what you see here, a chic all purpose style that suits almost every occasion.

For our first Iro & Buba Collection we’ve selected the off the shoulder cape blouse and paired it with a tulip tie. This Collection is available now from the GoWoman Shop check it out now!
