Miss South Africa Was Crowned Miss Universe 2017

Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters was crowned Miss Universe 2017 Sunday night in Las Vegas.

Nel-Peters is 22 years old. She recently earned her degree in business management at North-West University.

In addition to the title, Nel-Peters will be earning a year-long salary, a luxury apartment in New York City for the duration of her reign and more prizes.

She is the second woman from her home country to earn the crown.

The runner-up was Miss Colombia Laura Gonzalez, while the second runner-up was Miss Jamaica Davina Bennett.
