This March we mark over 100 years of Women’s Day observance across the world and 36 years since the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed that every March 8 be recognized as the UN Day for Women’s Rights.
The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day which is decided every year by UNESCO is “Equality for Women is Progress for All”, a conference will be held to this affect on March 7th in the Netherlands. West African women in Ghana, Sierra Leone, and in the diaspora are also marking International Women’s Day and the month with events and activities.
