From The Atlantic: Sierra Leone’s fight for Gender Equality

Film makers Anna CadyEm Cooper, and Jenny Cuffe have just been interviewed by The Atlantic about their film about the fight for gender equality in Sierra Leone.   The film, 30% (Women and Politics in Sierra Leone) follows activists from the 50/50 Group as they fight to get the government to pass a quota that will allow for a minimum 30% women’s representation across all arms of government. Since the 2012 elections, and the film’s production, the 30% bill has not passed in parliament inspite of the President’s supposed support of the quota being enacted into law.
