African Championship Silver Medalist Janet Amponsah just solidified her reign at the top of Ghana’s female athletics rooster by beating her personal best. Amponsah ran the 200m in  25:03 at Western Texas College where the 21 year-old is on a scholarship.

She is the second fastest Ghanaian woman to have completed the 200m. The country’s national record was set by Vida Nsiah at 22.80m in 1997.

Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare currently is currently the African women 200m outdoor champion. She ran her personal best of 22.31 in April 2013.
